Session Five cont'd - Follow Series
In this moment, Jesus is inviting you to follow him in a special way: “Will you go for me?” There is definitely a need, there is certainly a mission and he undoubtedly has a calling on your life. 'Where, what, when and how' can all be sorted out later - all you need to do for the moment is respond. Will you go where Jesus sends?
As we have said, if we're going to go on mission we need the Holy Spirit. The following is an adapted prayer of St Augustine's to the Holy Spirit. Read through it first to get a grasp of what Augustine was saying. Then take some time to listen to the song 'This Is The Time' by emmanuelworship. When you feel ready, write out your own prayer to follow the Spirit's call on your life.
Breathe into me Holy Spirit, That all my thoughts may be holy. Move in me, Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy. Attract my heart, Holy Spirit, that I may love only what is holy. Strengthen me, Holy Spirit, that I may defend all that is holy. Protect me, Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy.
