It has been a personal privilege to have been part of the team organising Ignite Conference for the last 20 years. Over this time, we have witnessed thousands of young people (and not as young!) encounter Jesus Christ as someone real and present today and experience the Holy Spirit in a tangible way in their lives.
Before the crazy fun, the new friends, and the many workshops, this has been the heart of Ignite Conference from the beginning – to offer you the opportunity to encounter Jesus in a personal way.
It doesn’t matter who you are
Whether you are an annual Ignite veteran or are not too sure about what this Ignite thing is, we are looking forward to seeing you at this year’s conference.
You might read your Bible every day or not know what a Bible is – it doesn’t matter to us or to God.
You might be proud to share your faith, or you might think you’re not worthy to come – either way, Jesus wants to show you how much He loves you.
This is not just about 4 days in September
Every Ignite is more than a year in the making (this time it’s 2 years!). Of course, the final couple of months are the busiest in preparation, but we have been working towards this conference since 2019. The theme ‘Unleash’ came out of prayer and discernment as we sought what God wanted to say and do through this year’s Ignite.
This isn’t just about the Ignite Team’s preparation though, it’s also a reflection of your own preparation. There may be some practical planning to do – taking time off work, joining a group, finding accommodation and don’t forget to choose workshops! – but you can be sure that God’s preparation for what He wants to say or do in you at Ignite began much earlier. God wants to unleash something in you this year.
Transformation
From the outside, the overall event might look the same for everyone, but in fact, what the Holy Spirit will do in you will be personal to you and your journey. Whatever your experience will be at Ignite this year, we believe it can draw you into a deeper relationship with God and impact your whole life, if you allow it.
Part of the heartbeat of Ignite Youth is that we don’t just want to see you changed for a day, but to be transformed for life. Ignite is not just about a great conference but about unleashing you to be all that God is calling you to be.
We have seen God move in powerful ways so many times over the past 20 years, and we can’t wait to see what God will do in your heart in the coming days!
